Mother and Child Shots

Most of you know I am always on the look out for beautiful moms to photograph for my reference library.  I am starting to paint a series of mother and child paintings this year (the first one is on my easel right now).  When I met C and her daughter A... I thought it was so great to see how much they look alike, yet with such different coloring.  The shapes of their faces are very similar, and so are their features, yet their hair and eye color are so different.

They were great to work with... I am sure I will have a tough time narrowing the pics down when I start to paint.   What shot (or combined shots)  do you think I should paint?

A was cracking me up -- using her elbow to smash the dough.

After the cookie making session, we went outside to take some more shots just for fun.

Pics for Alyce

Alyce wants some b&w pics to decorate her bathroom with.  She asked me to take some of the kids.  I thought this would be the easiest way for her to see the pics and choose.    Anyone else who sees, feel free to comment on which ones you like best. (She wants 4 landscape and 4 portrait)

Editing

I didn't take these photos -- but Jake's aunt asked me to try and fix them because it is rare that the whole group is together.  They just had someone snap them with their point and shoot... but unfortunately there was not one single photo where someone's (or more than one's) eyes were closed.

I know I still have miles to go with the things I can learn on photoshop.  It is fun to put some of the things I am learning to use... Plus I helped someone out :)

I was fortunate enough to be asked to take pictures of this cute little boy today. Luckily it was nice enough to go outside (indoor shoots still scare me a little.)
